...if I were He...

she asked him,
"why can we not be together
why is it we have to part
why did you leave with a stranger
when i am revealing my heart?"

because i love the unknown
i love the unknown
he says he loves the unknown
because i love the unknown
i love the unknown
he says he loves the unknown

they asked him,
"hey, where's this bus going?"
and he said, "well, i'm really not sure."
"well then, how will you know where to get off?"
and he said, "the place with the most allure."

because i love the unknown
i love the unknown
he says he loves the unknown
'cause i love the unknown
'cause i love the unknown
he said he loves the unknown

and then his father got him a job
and it paid well
but every day it felt the same
well, his father was really heartbroken
when he quit and changed his last name

the doctor asked him what he was afraid of
just what was he running from?
he said, "it's not a fear of success, nor of closeness
but of going through life feeling numb."

that's why i love the unknown
i love the unknown
he said he loves the unknown

because i love the unknown
i love the unknown
he says he loves the unknown

because i love the unknown
i love the unknown
he says he loves the unknown

interesting "love the unknown" idea.

Superlative.

So much is said in saying all of that...
and as you so ***king accurately said once-- you're looking at the voice... that's what I'm doing here. And I can't help it. I see me.

...if I were He...

he says he loves the unknown

May someone some day understand you in all that you are and understand your silence.

you are one of the very few, i dont need to say w.r.t what,
you know.

(I'd mentioned this on one of your older posts, dont think youve seen it

"Two women.
a writer and a poet.
Ayn Rand
Sylvia plath
if you haven't read them Already, please do so.
I had a sudden impulse to mention them to you.")

Zlaek said...

Oh I'd seen that. I've read Atlas Shrugged, and The Fountainhead by her. And her work will never lose its relevance to the world ever. I'm haven't read much of Sylvia Plath... I will, if you say so..
I don't like to read much... but once in a while, if its the right kind of piece... nothing like it.

Meghana Naidu said...

That is just perfect.
just take my word for it and read 'the anthem' - ayn rand. It is singularly the best work ive ever come across. both in style and theory.

its small, compared to the other two. read it and you'll know why im so emphatic about it

and plath, yes, when you can.

Plath is exceptional and a little disturbing But I love reading her.
Meghna you have a fabulous blog.

Oh lord, what a very strange piece! The things people write... they're quite brilliant, yes. But so very abstract!

Meghana Naidu said...

@Aparna
thank you, it always feels real nice to hear that :)
Plath: disturbing yes and such sheer genius!
you should read the 'neurotic poets' on my blog i think you'll appreciate them :)

Meghana Naidu said...

@unsung: they're the ones i love
*strange-brilliant-abstarct*
;)

but then again dont we all?
love the unknown i mean,
the mystery factor
*sigh
:)
